The School of Nursing is currently ranked among the top 20 nursing schools in the United States in National Institutes of Health (NIH) research funding and in the quality of its graduate programs.
Faculty at the UW–Madison School of Nursing explore a range of research areas, including pain and symptom management, women's health, complementary and alternative therapies, informatics, long–term care, workforce development, and health beliefs across cultures. School of Nursing faculty members engage in research partnerships with colleagues from industrial engineering, medicine, social work, psychology, educational psychology, and nutritional sciences. Nursing faculty are also active in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), in partnership with the School of Medicine and Public Health, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Engineering, and the Marshfield Clinic.
