School of Nursing Authors Honored with "Best of 2010" Awards
Karen Kehl, PhD, RN, assistant professor of nursing, and Karin T. Kirchhoff, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor emerita of nursing received accolades for their contributing chapter in Critical Care Nursing of Older Adults: Best Practices, a book chosen by the American Journal of Nursing to receive one of its prestigious Book of the Year Awards 2010. The chapter explored end-of-life care and decision making.
The Journal for Specialists in Pediatric Nursing (JSPN) chose the five-article series titled "Furthering the Understanding of Parent-Child Relationships: A Nursing Scholarship Review" to receive the 2010 JSPN Review Article Award. Its authors—Lori Anderson, PhD, RN, assistant professor of nursing; Patricia Becker, PhD, RN, professor emerita of nursing; Kristin Lutz, PhD, RN, former School of Nursing faculty and current assistant professor at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland; Karen Pridham,PhD, RN, professor emerita of nursing; and Susan Riesch, PhD, RN, professor of nursing—received accolades for their substantive contributions to the science and practice of pediatric nursing.
