A Groundbreaking Year
One of my colleagues said that this will be a "groundbreaking year for the School of Nursing!" Literally, yes…as the design for the school's future home is in its final stages. Next spring, we will break ground and construction will begin; if all goes as planned, we will move in the summer of 2014.

UW System Board of Regents Approves Name for New UW-Madison School of Nursing Building
The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents approved the naming of the Signe Skott Cooper Hall, the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing's new building, in recognition of Cooper's life-long commitment to the UW–Madison and her profession and to her generosity to the School of Nursing, her alma mater. In 2000, Cooper was inducted into the American Nurses Associations "Hall of Fame." In 2003, Cooper was named a "Living Legend" by the American Academy of Nursing.
