Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program

Please Note: Beginning fall 2016, all DNP students (Post-BS and Post-MS) must complete a graduate-level statistics course before they begin their DNP coursework in the fall. Please refer to the Admissions FAQ document for details.

The faculty admissions committee reviews applications once a year for fall admission. The application opens in early September, and all materials must be received by our February 1 deadline for consideration.

We accept applications from nurses who hold bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in nursing. For program admission purposes the School considers Post-Baccalaureate (Post-BS) and Post-Master’s (Post-MS) applicants as described below.

  • Post-Baccalaureate students have a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Applicants who have a non-APN master’s degree in nursing are considered with Post-BS applicants and are able to waive up to 18 credits based on previous graduate coursework.
  • Post-Master’s students have a master’s degree in a specialty track and are certified (or eligible for certification) as advanced practice nurses.
