President's PageWelcome to the Beta Eta-at-Large Chapter site for Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing. Beta Eta-at-Large is a chartered chapter between Edgewood College and the University of Wisconsin–Madison Schools of Nursing. The chapter's board of directors represents faculty from both institutions, as well as nurse leaders in the community. We warmly invite your participation in our chapter and extend our service to you as a clinician, nurse scholar, and leader.
Your board of directors is active in promoting the growth of our local chapter through annual membership inductions and educational offerings with regionally and nationally celebrated nurse leaders and scholars, as well as sponsoring research and clinical scholarship awards. We welcome your suggestions for other service offerings as we strive to develop program offerings and increase regional collaboration with our sister chapters throughout Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Manitoba, Canada.
Our relationship with you as a member of the Beta Eta-at-Large Chapter is of critical importance to our sustainability as a chapter. If you have not done so recently, please become an active member by contacting STTI and paying your dues. Your active membership allows us to promote service, scholarship, and research endeavors. Each year we offer undergraduate and graduate student scholarships, as well as a research grant award to a developing nurse scholar. In addition, we recently contributed to the building funds of both Edgewood and UW–Madison schools of nursing as they expand to educate future nurses.
Please consider becoming a member of our board, voicing your interests, and/or sharing your talents so that others may benefit. Whether it is formal board service or a time-limited activity, know that we welcome your participation and will support you with mentorship.
I look forward to getting to know more of you and hope that you will join our efforts in moving the Beta Eta-at-Large Chapter forward as a positive force for change in nursing practice, education, and scholarly work here in Madison and the surrounding region. Please feel free to contact me directly with program suggestions and/or your interest in becoming involved.
We look forward to hearing from you!
